Miami (OH) loses second-leading receiver for Mizzou game

Miami (Ohio) was already facing a steep opening-weekend challenge by facing Missouri. Now, they’ll be without one of their biggest offensive playmakers, making the slim chance of an upset for the RedHawks much more difficult.

The university has stated that receiver Nick Harwell has been suspended for today’s game against the Tigers. The sophomore was a major contributor to MU’s offense last season, reeling in 64 passes for 871 yards and six touchdowns as a true freshman -- good enough for second on the team.

No immediate reason was given for the suspension.

Quick hits:

Missouri cornerback Kip Edwards and center Travis Ruth are not dressed for today’s game. Edwards is suffering a hamstring injury and Ruth is dealing with an Achilles problem.
