UGA to be without starting LB for at least a month

As it turns out, scoreboard wasn’t the only loss suffered by Georgia against Boise State Saturday night.

Head coach Mark Richt confirmed Sunday that starting linebacker Alec Ogletree suffered a broken bone in his right foot in the loss to the Broncos. Ogletree will undergo surgery Monday to repair the damage, and will miss at least the next four weeks as he recovers from the injury.

“I’m sure he’s crushed,” head coach Mark Richt said. “He was really playing outstanding football. He played inspiring football. Our defense really came out ready to play. A lot of energy and big hits early on. And he was a big part of that.”

UGA will open SEC play this coming weekend against South Carolina.
