Troy Woolfolk likely to return for game against Irish

Coming back from a nasty ankle injury a year ago, Michigan cornerback Troy Woolfolk didn’t play much of the Wolverines’ season opener against Western Michigan because of a sprained ankle he suffered during a kickoff.

The injury initially looked serious when Woolfolk was carted off the field, but thankfully for U-M fans, it looks like the senior will be back in Michigan’s night game this weekend against Notre Dame.

Coach Brady Hoke said that Woolfolk was able to return to the sidelines after halftime and could have been used in an emergency situation.

It felt better (Sunday),” Hoke said of Woolfolk’s ankle.

Michigan will need all its playmakers healthy and available this Saturday when the Wolverines and Notre Dame play the first night game at The Big House sporting these retro unis.
