Mississippi State is trailing LSU 6-3 at the end of a first half that featured — wait for it — a mere four incomplete passes by quarterbacks Chris Relf and Jarrett Lee!
Overachieving quarterbacks aside, there’s some less-than-stellar news on the Bulldogs’ front as offensive lineman Tobias Smith will miss the rest of the game with a knee injury, according to the university.
Smith injured his knee on the first drive for MSU and has been seen on crutches. More information about Smith’s injury should hopefully come tomorrow, but the injury is an obvious blow to an already thin O-line.
CRAP! I forgot about this game!!
Deb – be glad you missed the game, LSU is for real…they have the best defense I’ve seen in a long time.
Saw the end of it. Yeah … they’re tough.
Ok, I’ve got to come out and say something about this game. LSU has a terrific program, the offense has come along quite nicely but there’s still some kinks in the armor and the same goes for the defense. As I watched the game through the first half I had to wonder if LSU was capable of pulling this one off. Before any of you want to come at me please allow me to explain why I said that. There were plays that they could’ve done better on and plays that they looked just the opposite on, i.e. the interception that Morris Clayborn had. John Chavis is doing a great job with the defense but if he’s going to have them go after the opposing offense more then he needs to do that rather than rely on doing it sporatically. Though I’m not a huge Jarrett Lee fan I’d still like to see the Mettenberger kid come in and show what he’s made of. I’ve seen this kid in action and he’s pretty damned good. If I was a betting person I wouldn’t know which way to go with the game against WVa, unless they stay focused LSU’s going to have one hellva game to play to win it.
Deb are you the one who voted me down? If so please tell me why. Or if somebody else did I’d like a rational explaination as to why. Undoubtbly you weren’t watching the same game as I.
Hi, suprmous …
No, I didn’t vote you down. Some nuts came through here and voted everyone down and I haven’t been back to the thread. Don’t pay attention to the thumbs-down. Kids come through and do it for laughs–even on threads where we’re posting condolences when players have died or been injured. Half the time, they haven’t even read the comments. And if you let them think it bothers you, they’ll just do it all the more. I have a whole group of “fans” who’ve told me they’ll thumbs-down anything I say, even if they agree with it because they just don’t like me. They have the mentality of lab rats. Don’t try to get into their heads. Heaven only knows what you’d find LOL
Oh, as for your comment, I only saw the tailend of the game, so I couldn’t contradict you one way or the other. But if you saw chinks in LSU’s defense, that thrills me. I’m a Bama fan, and want to beat them when we play. Chinks are good
Deb, I get what you’re saying and you’re so right about the for laughs thing. I can remember sitting back watching of how they slaughtered the one who called herself ladyhuckleberry. She really seemed to have a grip on what she was talking about and yet somehow the superjocks felt intimidated so they all laughed at her and voted her down. And when Les Miles’ sister died. All I can say is there’s a lot of upbringing in question when it comes to some that come on hhere for sure. I don’t let it get to me because I know that for what it’s worth I’m only one fish in a pond and there’s many more besides me.
If I ever really take exception to something you’ve posted, I’ll post a comment to you. Was about to say I respect everyone’s right to their opinion, but I just told a guy on another thread he’s insane LOL Oh well … we all get passionate sometimes
