Penn St. receiver a no-go against Temple, maybe season

A tumultuous past year for Penn State wide receiver Curtis Drake has resulted in a series of leg and foot injuries, as well as an off-the-field incident, but it was thought back in July that the junior would be healthy enough to go this season.

Eh, not so fast.

After seeing limited time in a loss to Alabama, coach Joe Paterno said that Drake is a no-go this weekend against Temple.

“He’s sore. I’m not sure he’ll even go this year,” Paterno said earlier this week. “I keep asking the doctors, is he getting better, is he getting better? And he goes out there and runs, but he’s still not [fully recovered].”

Drake has been practicing in a non-contact jersey and had been sidelined since Penn State’s appearance in the Outback Bowl last January.
