WVU offering vouchers to buy back F-bomb shirts

For those who don’t know, ESPN’s College Game Day will be live from the epicenter of exclusion right now -- Morgantown, West Virginia -- this Saturday when No. 2 LSU comes to town to play the No. 16 Mountaineers.

And, just in case the SEC changes their mind, the university will be trying to put on their best face for the event by removing all “West F---ing Virginia” shirts from the stands of Mountaineer Field (and grounds of the Mountainlair Plaza, the site for CGD).

A fan wearing the shirt was shown during the broadcast of WVU’s season-opening game against Marshall. The sight prompted athletic director Oliver Luck to write a letter asking fans to refrain from wearing the item. Now, the school’s spirit group, the Mountaineer Maniacs, are holding an exchange Thursday and Friday for the shirts.

Fans who bring in the shirt will receive a $20 voucher for any university-licensed apparel. Coincidentally, I will be going on eBay to see if I can snag one before they’re all gone.
