Charges against FSU’s Reid dropped

Greg Reid, Marcus Davis

The other day, JT wrote that Florida State cornerback/return specialist Greg Reid was arrested on a pair of misdemeanor charges — perjury not in an official proceeding and resisting an officer without violence — after he gave Tallahassee police the run around about his friend Montrel ‘Trel Rontrel Frazier, who was borrowing his  scooter.

However, the two misdemeanor charges against Reid have been dropped.

According to a police report, Reid’s friend reportedly was riding Reid’s scooter without a licence plate. After being pulled over, Frazier allegedly resisted arrest and escaped the scene. While Reid was supposedly less-than-cooperative with police, it appears authorities were able to discover Frazier’s identity without Reid’s help.

The incident isn’t expected to have any effect on Reid’s chances of playing against Wake Forest next weekend. FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said Reid will suit up, but was glad the charges were dropped.

Reid had already missed one game due to suspension and last week’s loss to Clemson due to injury.

Every college football town has its own set of “fixers.” In Tallahassee, they’re called the State Attorney’s Office.
