Air Force jumps to 21-3 lead at Navy

Future Big East battle? We’re just sayin’...

Troy Calhoun‘s Air Force squad arrived in Annapolis knowing that the winner would likely capture the Commander-in-Chief Trophy. It only took four plays for the Falcons to announce their intentions, running out to an early lead and the inside track for the coveted prize.

Quarterback Tim Jefferson hit Ty MacCurthur for a 52-yard touchdown just over a minute into the game and the first half has been all Air Force, with the Falcons taking a 21-3 lead into half over Navy, a shocking start to a game that Navy was favored in.

Jefferson is 4 of 4 passing, and has already run for 50 yards against Navy’s 100th-ranked rush defense. The Falcons have also slowed down Navy QB Kriss Proctor and running back Alexander Teich, holding the duo to three yards per carry.
