Utah will already be without starting quarterback Jordan Wynn because of a shoulder injury, but Arizona State will face the Utes this weekend with some injury problems of their own.
Doug Haller of the Arizona Republic writes that starting left tackle Evan Finkenberg will have surgery on Wednesday for a knee injury he suffered during last week’s game against Oregon State. Arizona State would not give injury specifics, but it’s almost certain that he will miss the rest of the season as he recovers.
Arizona State’s offensive line is already a little thinner with center Garth Gerhart listed as questionable for this weekend’s game, and have Finkenberg out would hurt too. Gerhart has been listed as having an ankle sprain and is considered day-to-day.
Haller reports that Aderious Simmons and Kody Koebensky are likely candidates to replace Finkenberg and Gerhart, respectively, if the two can’t go.
Ankle sprain? C’mon Garth, tape it up, put down the humice and crackers, take off the north face jacket, and MAN UP!
