Great Scott!: Texas safety out indefinitely with wrist injury

Oklahoma receiver Trey Franks will be returning this weekend for the Red River Rivalry after serving an indefinite suspension. Texas, on the other hand, looks to be losing a player before the biggest game of the season for the Longhorns so far.

Safety Christian Scott has injured his wrist during last Saturday’s win over Iowa State and will be out indefinitely, UT athletic trainer Kenny Boyd said Monday.

That means Texas would likely be out two defensive backs -- the other being Nolan Brewster, who had to give up football due to concerns with head injuries -- against the No. 3 Sooners. Depth for the Longhorns in the secondary has been shaky this because Scott, as you’ll remember, missed the first three games of the season after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an incident with a repo worker.
