Buffs lose leading receiver for at least three games

If Colorado is to secure their first-ever Pac-12 win in the coming weeks, they’ll have to do so without the services of their top offensive threat.

Wide receiver Paul Richardson suffered a knee injury during practice this past week and didn’t play in the Buffaloes’ 48-7 loss to Stanford yesterday. Not only did Richardson miss the Cardinal game, he’ll also miss at least the next three games as well, the Boulder Daily Camera reports.

Officially Richardson will be recovering from what’s being described as a sprained knee, although there’s no word on exactly how he suffered the injury.

Richardson, who transferred from UCLA last summer to CU following an offseason arrest, leads the Buffs in receptions (29), receiving yards (474) and receiving touchdowns (five). Redshirt freshman Keenan Canty started in Richardson’s place yesterday and is expected to do so for the foreseeable future, with Georgia transfer Logan Gray also logging more time on the playing field as a result of the injury.
