APOhio State unfortunately finds itself in the headlines against for yet another player suspension, this time to cornerback Dominic Clarke.
It doesn’t involve the NCAA in any way, but Clarke will miss this Saturday’s game against No. 16 Illinois because of an allegation that he fired a “compressed air” gun outside a school cafeteria on Sunday — specifically, on top of a roof with two other Ohio State athletes. He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Clarke was consequently suspended for what is being classified as a violation of common sense team rules. It doesn’t appear Clarke will be suspended for any games beyond this weekend.
“This is isolated. He’s very remorseful. Just a little thing that happened on campus,” interim coach Luke Fickell said Thursday. “It’s not something we’re dwelling upon.”
Clarke has 11 tackles and three pass breakups on the season.
Would anyone be surprised if it comes back that said gun was provided by a booster or TP and that Clarke will eventually be suspended for an undetermined number of games by the NCAA?
@row – even worse – he traded an alumni for it using his game jersey. The NCAA deems it LOIC and gives OSU the death penalty
How is this even a story?
In other news, a football player from SW missouri State threw a rock at a campus window.
It’s news because it’s OSU, if this happens at a MAC school, it might might a local paper.
