Tigers geaux atop first BCS rankings

With half the season in the books, the BCS standings are finally out and 10 undefeated teams remain. We know for a fact that five of those remaining undefeated teams (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas State; Alabama and LSU) still have yet to play one another, so obviously, some of this BCS mess will work itself out.

As you can see, the BCS loves itself some SEC, as LSU and Alabama rank first and second. The two Oklahoma teams come in at No. 3 and No. 4. The key for all four of those teams? Just keep winning, and the BCS cards look to be in their favor.

But there are still plenty of teams like Stanford, Wisconsin, Boise State and Clemson who control their own conference destiny so long as they keep winning. And how about Kansas State, with a No. 11 ranking? It’s going to get tough for the Wildcats in the coming weeks, but Bill Snyder‘s team has been the biggest surprise of the first half of the year.

Without any further delay, however, let’s get to the rankings.

Wait. One more thing: as a reminder, you can check out all the latest polls from the fine folks at NBC HERE. Okay, now we’re good. Carry on.
