Brown named starter for Terps

Not that it’s any grand surprise, but Maryland’s latest depth chart, released today, shows that sophomore quarterback C.J. Brown has been named the starter for the Terps’ next game against at Florida State this Saturday. Barring a complete collapse, it looks like Brown will be Maryland’s starter from here on out.

Brown first saw significant action a couple of weeks ago in a loss to Georgia Tech when he rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on just nine carries. Brown almost pulled the upset over Clemson last week in his first career start, rushing for 162 yards and a score while throwing for three more touchdowns.

Brown replaces incumbent starter Danny O’Brien for the second straight week. O’Brien, a fellow sophomore, was the ACC Rookie of the Year last season. But O’Brien has just four touchdowns to six interceptions this season.
