Indiana’s leading receiver to be out against Iowa

Indiana’s leading receiver Damarlo Belcher was just three catches away last Saturday from becoming the school’s all-time leading receiver in receptions before suffering a knee injury that would leave him sidelined for the second half of a 59-7 loss at the hands of Wisconsin.

Heading into practice, Belcher tried to work past the pain.

He did try to do a little bit of work (Monday),” Wilson said via the Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette after Tuesday’s practice. “He is functional, but the level of plays we go through the week, it will be determined, can he play at a high level moving forward?”

Unfortunately for Wilson, it doesn’t look like the receiver will be back on the field this weekend. Wilson announced tonight that Belcher, along with center Will Matte, will miss Saturday’s game against Iowa.

Belcher already has 25 receptions this year for 286 yards and a score.
