Marc Tyler not cleared to return for USC

USC running back Marc Tyler entered last Saturday’s game against Stanford nursing a dislocated shoulder that he sustained in a win over Cal earlier this month.

He didn’t last long. On USC’s first offensive series, Tyler carried the ball for three yards before being tackled. Tyler then left the field favoring that injured shoulder and did not return to the game.

On Tuesday, coach Lane Kiffin said that Tyler did not practice and has not been cleared to return to practice by medical staff. It’s unclear when Tyler will get back to practicing again, even in a limited, no-contact role.

The Trojans are a little beat up at that running back spot. In addition to Tyler, freshman George Farmer was held out because of a lingering ankle injury he’s been dealing with.

USC travels to Colorado this Friday to take on the 1-8 Buffaloes.
