Marc Tyler cleared to play against Washington

USC running back Marc Tyler has been battling a the lingering effects of a dislocated shoulder for the better part of a month now after suffering the injury against Cal back in October.

Tyler was able to return for USC’s win over Notre Dame the week following the injury, but was quickly sidelined at the beginning of the Trojans’ game against Stanford when he appeared to re-aggravate it on USC’s opening drive. Tyler would go on to miss last Friday night’s game at Colorado.

Now that he’s had time to rest, it appears the senior’s going to give it another try. He’s been practicing with the team this week in a no-contact jersey and has been cleared to play this weekend against Washington.

Marc could play right now,” USC coach Lane Kiffin said Tuesday. “But we’re still trying not to get him hit.”

If Tyler is limited in the game against the Huskies, junior Curtis McNeal will likely get the nod. McNeal has rushed 30 times for 232 yards and two touchdowns the past two games.
