Ouch: Maryland loses Danny O’Brien for remainder of the season

Whether you’re talking about the on-the-field performance or the demented court jester uniforms (pictured), there just weren’t many positives Maryland could take away from tonight’s 45-21 loss to Notre Dame.

Unfortunately for the lowly Terps, that extends to the injury front.

Coach Randy Edsall confirmed after the game that quarterback Danny O’Brien had a broken bone in his upper arm and would miss the rest of the season.

O’Brien had been sharing time with C.J. Brown this season, but O’Brien had a majority of the total snaps tonight. O’Brien has thrown for just over 1,500 yards this season with six touchdowns, but nine interceptions. With O’Brien out, Brown will almost certainly have to carry the Terps for their final two games.

It’s been a rough first year for Edsall. Maryland is 2-8 this year with only one win against an FBS opponent -- the season-opener against Miami.
