Video: The Jerry Sandusky interview

As we noted earlier, Jerry Sandusky inexplicably decided to do his first extensive interview since being charged with 40 counts of child-sex abuse, speaking exclusively to NBC‘s Bob Costas via phone Monday night.

The video clip is below, and we won’t go through the exercise of rehashing the entire interview, with two exceptions.

One, outstanding job by Costas given the circumstances and material. Not only should he be credited for somehow landing the interview, but he should be lauded for leaving the kid gloves off and coming right at the alleged pedophile, asking the questions that needed to be asked.

And, two, Sandusky’s long, peg-the-creepy-meter pause followed by a repeating of the question “are you sexually attracted to young boys?” was so damning, so disturbing. In the eyes of the law, Sandusky is innocent until proven guilty. Based on that 10-second or so sequence, it won’t be long until the presumption of innocence gives way to a guilty verdict in a court of law.

Below is the complete interview Costas conducted with Sandusky.
