Clowney will play against Clemson, but suspended for one quarter

Earlier this week, JT noted that South Carolina freshman defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was questionable for tonight’s game against Clemson because of a concussion he suffered last week against the Citadel.

Clowney didn’t practice Tuesday or Wednesday, but Josh Kendall at The State tweets that Clowney has been cleared to play tonight against the Tigers. However, Clowney will sit out the first quarter because of a violation of team rules.

Clowney is currently second on the Gamecocks in sacks (five) and tackles for loss (nine).

Wow Clowney must have murdered a visiting professor to get this kind of discipline from Spurrier.
