RGIII KO’d against Texas Tech, done for the night

Baylor will have to finish a tight game against Texas Tech in Cowboys Stadium without their Heisman trophy candidate, quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Griffin was scrambling to his right late in the first half when he was hit by a Texas Tech defender up near his helmet. Griffin was sliding on the play and slow motion replay showed his helmet bouncing hard off the turf. Griffin laid on the ground for a few minutes before walking off under his own power, but it was clear the hit had knocked a few cobwebs loose.

It also knocked him out of the game.

The official word coming from the game is that Griffin is done for the game, although no reason was given. Griffin has been walking the sidelines so far in the third quarter and isn’t even holding his helmet. That’s a tough blow for Baylor, but backup Nick Florence has been filling in well so far with one touchdown pass.

Baylor currently leads 38-28 in the third quarter.
