Florida linebacker Darrin Kitchens laid on the field for about 10 minutes last night after sustaining a helmet-to-helmet hit on the opening kick off of the second half of last night’s game against Florida State.
It was a scary sight, but Kitchens was able to give a thumbs up as he was carted off the field, immobilized. Today, Kitchens was released from a local hospital. Tests revealed Kitchens did not suffer any major neck injuries, but it appears he does have a concussion.
It’s unclear whether Kitchens will return for a bowl game, but that’s obviously not the most important thing right now. We’re just glad Kitchens is okay.
