First, DR treated the teachers in high school like crap and they took it until Football season was over and then he was home schooled after football season. "Daddy" Nance gets him to go to UT so that they would take his son Nash. Then when the first trouble he got into "Daddy" Nance's money took care of that. So when are these athletes going to learn. The will not as long as the schools continue to let them get by with it. There are plenty of good athletes coming out of high school with great grades and morals that are overlooked every year that would not make the school or coach look bad and would work their butts off to get the shot he has. Schools need to start looking at these athletes.

"You are delusional. There is nothing more that can be said.

DR is not perfect, but he is a smart and likable kid. You know nothing concerning the state of our program, so keep your mouth shut.
Our program is strong, regardless of the situation of this kid."
____________________________________

FACT: Tennessee just had back to back losing seasons for the first time since 1910-1911. It has not happened in 100 yrs. The Vols celebrated like they had just won the Super Bowl after beating Vandy in OT at Neyland. Most years at Tennessee that would be considered an embarrassment. KY just broke our 26 yr streak over them. Dooley's signature win thus far is against Cincinnati. He is 4-12 in the SEC with his wins coming against Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vanderbilt (the three worst teams in the SEC, one of which just beat us). Need I go on? I don't think anyone in their right mind would call this a "strong" period for the Volunteer football program. And YOU are calling ME delusional?

Second, I never said DR was not a great WR... and you are right Hunter was even better ... Hopefully he will be again after knee surgery... that remains to be seen... but regardless of how stellar our receiving corps may be, I do not see how we can be successful without some kind of running game as well. Tauren Poole was a 1000 yd back in 2010. I have no idea what happened between last year and this year but we had no running game. None! Our run blocking was abysmal. You cannot be one dimensional and have success against a great defense. The running game sets up the passing game.

The fact of the matter is Dooley knows he is very likely done if he does not win a minimum of 7-8 games next year. He knows this and so does Da'Rick. It is an unfortunate situation... but I think it goes a long way to explain this otherwise odd news blurb.

Our program is strong, regardless of the situation of this kid. He led the league without competent supporting cast. Kid is on some other level.
The issue with him is that he does not care about class and likes to party. He is a freak, he doesn't fit in anywhere. I pray for him because he has unreal talent; he is literally the best in the league as a soph, and Hunter is better than him. This is unprecedented in case you were wondering. Pair those two up with JUCO WR Cord Patterson and our vertical game will be unstoppable.

V,B.
Simple as that.

As if a husker fan can talk about lawless players. When big Tom had you all in relevant games your players were out of control too.

Yeah... well it would be one thing if we had our thugs (Da'Rick) but were steamrolling everyone in our path like the Lawrence Phillips era Huskers... Instead we have the worst team in the entire 120 yr history of the program... Tennessee is far less relevant today than Nebraska... haven't been relevant in almost a decade either...

You are completely wrong and slandering DR for no apparent reason. Da'Rick was cleared of all charges and did not kick anybody in the head. The laws are pretty cut and dry about these things; if he had done that, he would have been kicked off the team just like Darren Myles Jr. was. DMJr by the way was a prized recruit and a phenomenal safety but couldn't get his act together. To insinuate Dooley puts up with bad behavior is pathetically misguided. Not one of Dooley's commits has been in trouble at UT. Know your facts before you post your libelous garbage you embossed carbuncle.

I can remember when he de-commited from UGA about 2-3 weeks before national signing day. He signed with the Vols. and within two months, was involved in some deep trouble with the police up in Knoxville. I think the charges got reduced to a felony some how, even though a off duty police officer was involved. I had wondered why UGA hadn't made a last ditch effort to get him to change his mind and wondered at the time why that was. A couple of months later I think I got my answer. I don't know what kind of hot water he is now, since his coach , Derek the wonder boy, was nebulous at best, as to the cause of him being unofficially/ officially not on the team.
Hope the kid straightens out his problems, but if CMR gave up on the guy, that is not a good sign.

Da'Rick is Dooley's five star recruit that kicked off duty police officer (Robert Capouellez) in the head while he was lying prone on the ground. He fractured his skull and was given a slap on the wrist. All this occurred during the time frame when all the yokels were convinced Dooley would restore "integrity" to the program... mostly because he had a strong southern drawl and a prominent last name... He was considered the anti-Kiffin (which is mostly true considering Kiffin is a talented coach). I was disgusted when he did not kick this scum bag (Da'Rick) off the team then and there... but again he was the lone five star in Dooley's recruiting class... and he is undeniably a talented WR. Things keep going from bad to worse in the Dooley era...
