Rice is shaking up part of its coaching staff following a disappointing 4-8 season.
Defensive coordinator Chuck Driesbach and recruiting coordinator/running backs coach Rick LaFavers were fired Monday, according to multiple reports.
Driesbach and LaFavers had been with Owls coach David Bailiff since 2007 when Bailiff first arrived at Rice.
The owls had statistically one of the worst defenses in 2011, recording a defense of 100th or worse in points allowed, yards per game, touchdowns, passing yards and total yards.
