Bert Reed likely out of FSU’s bowl game

Unfortunately for both the player and the team, an injury will likely end Bert Reed‘s Florida State career.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed that the wide receiver has a significant hamstring injury and has all but been ruled out of the Seminoles’ Dec. 29 Champs Sports Bowl matchup with Notre Dame. Reed suffered the injury during practice Friday.

The senior is out of eligibility after this season, so he may well have played his final game as a Seminole.

“Bert pulled a ham,” Fisher said. “Bad. He’s probably done. ...

“I don’t know that (he won’t play). But he pulled it pretty good. It’s a shame.”

Reed, who was hampered by a sprained ankle earlier this year, is tied for second on the team in receiving touchdowns with four, and is third in receptions with 28. He’s currently fourth on the school’s all-time receptions list (169).
