Pitt co-OC resigns before bowl game; QB coach to get play-calling duties

At this rate, Pitt will be playing in the BBVA Compass Bowl with two coaches on the sidelines.

Just one day after head coach Todd Graham texted his team “L8er h8trz LOL!"* on his way to Arizona State, the Panthers learned they will now be without one of their offensive coordinators for the bowl game as well.

(*actually, Graham sent a statement to his director of football operations. Who then texted his players. But who cares?)

Paul Zeise of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweets that co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Mike Norvell has resigned. Norvell will likely join Graham at ASU. The Panthers other offensive coordinator, Calvin Magee, joined Rich Rodriguez‘s staff at Arizona earlier this month.

The play calling duties for the Panthers now likely rest on quarterbacks coach and former North Texas head coach Todd Dodge. Dodge, who won just six games at UNT in a little over three seasons, is in his first year with Pitt.
