APThe bizarre post-practice fight between Penn State receiver Curtis Drake and quarterback Matt McGloin from last Saturday will not result in any legal ramifications.
As you’ll recall, McGloin was sent to a local hospital to be treated for a concussion and seizure after he was reportedly knocked out by Drake in the PSU locker room. The fight is said to have started from an incident that happened during practice that carried over to the locker room.
McGloin later took responsibility for the scuffle and the case has been closed, according to PSU police.
“We’ve identified both people [in the incident] and neither one of them want to bring charges,” PSU Police Chief Tyrone Parham told the Harrisburg Patriot-News.
PSU is is considering the case “exceptionally cleared” in their report on the case.
Neither player was at Monday’s practice, and McGloin is still going through medical tests to see if he will be cleared for the TicketCity Bowl on Jan. 2.
Nothing good happens in a locker room at Penn State.
Of course no charges will be filed. It’s only harmless locker room horseplay at Penn State.
Locker room fights are a common occurrence at all levels of sports. The only reason this one made the news is because it was at Penn State and some people like to sling mud whenever they have the chance to do so.
Drake= 5’11″ 175+
McGloin = 6’1″ 215
And Drake gives him a beatdown . Doesn’t look good for Matt locker room morale.
Being that Drake has a prior history of assault and fighting, one has to wonder if McGloin is taking responsibility as a leader and QB to keep his WR and teammate out of disciplinary action?
Guys fighting in a locker room. Wow! That should bring on a media frenzy.
