No Mike Dyer. No  Clint Moseley. No problem.

Despite missing their leading rusher and starting quarterback, Auburn easily handled Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl by a final score of 43-24. Tigers quarterback Clint Moseley left in the first quarter with an ankle injury and Barrett Trotter, who had started earlier in the season, took over and threw for a touchdown.

In place of Dyer, running backs Onterio McCalebb and Tre Mason accounted for over 170 yards and two touchdowns; Kiehl Frazier added another 55 yards on the ground.

Auburn’s offense by committee was able to give offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn a win as he departs for Arkansas State.

Virginia, in their first year under Mike London, drops to 8-5.

I know it was Virginia, but Auburn is loaded with talent on offense. Blake is a star. Tre Mason is a star. Looking forward to see what Gene can do w/o Gus on O. Should be very interesting. War Damn Eagle!

Congrats to Auburn for putting forth a great game despite losing two important players. Showing the depth of their roster, Auburn did not seem to miss them (though certainly they did) by those who took their places doing so well. Special teams, special teams, special teams!

Another great SEC win. If Auburn is able to put all 3 phases of the game together as they did against Virginia in the SEC season in 2012, they will be a team to reckon with.

UVA fought hard, they’re a young team with a bright future, and will keep getting better as long as London keeps doing the right things. Chizik is a good coach who finds ways to win games like the unexpected onside kick, gotta respect what he’s doing down there. This game reminded me of UVA’s game against FSU last year (2010 season) where despite seeming to be in the right position most of the time, they simply couldn’t make the play. To me that says lack of confidence, and inferior talent, both of which will be addressed and fixed if the Cavs keep improving on the field, and in their recruiting. Good effort from both teams! Happy New Years yo!!!

UVA is definitely correcting the mess that Groh left them in. Glad they got to a bowl and with good recruiting will finally start to have some good seasons in Charlottesville

    btw this is London’s 2nd season w/ the Cav’s

Good game played by Auburn tho
