Ex-Clemson WR transferring to UConn

Three months and a couple of days after announcing his decision to transfer from Clemson, Bryce McNeal has found a new college football home.

The wide receiver posted a tweet to his Twitter account Saturday, announcing that he has decided to transfer from the Tigers to UConn. “Your boy is officially a Uconn huskie,” McNeal tweeted.

As McNeal has already graduated, he will be eligible to play for the Huskies in 2012. The school has yet to confirm McNeal’s announcement.

In addition to UConn, McNeal also took an official visit to Cal earlier this month.

McNeal played in the first three games of the 2011 season, including a start, but had just one reception for eight yards. He played in 12 of 13 games in 2010, and totaled 19 receptions for 187 yards.

As a four-star member of Clemson’s 2009 recruiting class, McNeal was the No. 10 receiver in the country according to Rivals.com.
