UPDATED : 5:15 p.m. ET: Wherever Ohio State players got the indication they were banned from Twitter, it wasn’t from the correct source. Just hours after several players tweeted that they were banned from the site by new coach Urban Meyer, some of them came back to say “LOLZ JK!”
Question: do we now get on Meyer for not imposing the band? I’m so confused right now.
Urban Meyer officially began his tenure as the next coach of Ohio State today, one day after the Buckeyes fell 24-17 in the Gator Bowl to Florida. Within hours, the now-full-time coach already implemented the Meyer Way in Columbus by banning his players from Twitter.
Coincidentally enough, tight end Jake Stoneburner was one of a few Buckeyes who broke the news via the social networking website.
“Twitter=Done. Me=back for senior year, leading this team, and shocking the world!! #gobucks #12-0,” Stoneburner tweeted.
Meyer takes over for interim coach Luke Fickell, who led Ohio State to a 6-7 record in 2011 after taking over for the fired Jim Tressel.
