Just over two months after announcing their decisions to leave Florida, tight end Gerald Christian and wide receiver Robert Clark (pictured) have reportedly decided on their future football home.
According to InsideTheVille.com, Clark confirmed over the weekend that he will transfer to Louisville. Wednesday, Christian confirmed he would be rejoining his teammate with the Cardinals as well.
Both players visited the Cardinals last month, and will enroll at the school Monday.
“You want to go somewhere you will be comfortable and have a good relationship with the coaches,” Clark said. “That’s one of the biggest things that makes me like Louisville. All the players told me they get along great with the coaches. To me, that’s one of the biggest things that impressed me.”
Louisville head coach Charlie Strong was the defensive coordinator at UF during the pair’s recruitment. That familiarity appeared to play a significant role in the move to the Big East school.
Christian was a four-star member of the Gators’ 2010 recruiting class, and the No. 2 TE in the country that year. This season he had four receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. Clark was a three-star member of the Gators’ 2010 recruiting class who had no catches this season after hauling in seven for 69 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman last year.
Both players will be forced to sit out the 2012 season to saisfy NCAA transfer rules.
