Following up on comments made before the Insight Bowl against Oklahoma, Iowa running back Mika’il McCall will not be returning to the Hawkeyes.
The freshman running back wrote on his Facebook page last month “I’m not going to Iowa anymore” — a comment that was subsequently met with “no comment” rebuttals from both Iowa and coach Kirk Ferentz.
Turns out, not much needs to be said. Ferentz mentioned Wednesday that McCall intends to transfer, but didn’t specify to where.
McCall had 11 carries for 65 yards this year, almost all of them coming in the season-opening game against Tennessee Tech. However, McCall missed much of the season with an ankle injury and was suspended for the final two regular season games for undisclosed reasons.
What is it with Iowa and running back issues?
Why is this news? He had 11 carries all season, who cares let him transfer!!
Don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. That just opens up one more scholarship for a someone that will play. We have a few huskers I wouldn’t mind getting that twtter message from.
What is it with Ferentz, Iowa and all of these players being suspended. Christ, you’re in Iowa City, exactly how much trouble can you get in?…OK, apparently a lot.
