Southern Miss replenishes coaching holes after Fedora departure

Following the departure of six Southern Miss assistants to North Carolina, where they will join former Golden Eagles coach Larry Fedora, new USM coach Ellis Johnson has added three assistants to fill some of those holes.

The school announced that Steve Buckley, formerly the head coach of Petal High School for the past five years, would come on as the school’s running backs coach. Buckley joins former Tulane quarterbacks coach and Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Rickey Bustle,who has been named offensive coordinator, and Tommy West, formerly the DC of UAB, who has been named to the same position.
