One of the most underrated college football players in the country, let alone at the running back position, has decided three years at this level are enough.
Speaking to the Associated Press, Temple’s Bernard Pierce confirmed that he will be leaving the school and making himself available for the 2012 NFL draft. Pierce told the AP that he’s accomplished all he wanted to with the Owls, prompting the early move to the NFL.
During his time with the Owls, Pierce rushed for more than 3,500 yards and his 52 touchdowns are a school record. This season, Pierce’s average of 123.4 yards per game is good for seventh in the country, while his 27 rushing touchdowns are second behind Wisconsin’s Montee Ball.
