Jayhawks land ex-Sooners WR

Since becoming the head coach at Kansas Dec. 8, Charlie Weis has landed one former five-star quarterback -- Notre Dame’s Dayne Crist -- and one ex-four-star QB -- BYU’s Jake Heaps -- as transfers.

Now, Weis has gotten a commitment from yet another formerly highly-touted recruit on the offensive side of the ball.

According to the Lawrence Journal World, former Oklahoma wide receiver Justin McCay has committed to play football for the Jayhawks and will enroll at the school in the spring. McCay chose KU over in-state rival Kansas State.

Like Heaps, McCay will have to sit out the 2012 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. Crist, on the other hand, will be eligible to play immediately as he’s already graduated from Notre Dame.

McCay played in three games for the Sooners this season, and had as many receptions as I did before suffering an injury. A four-star member of OU’s 2010 recruiting class, McCay was the No. 6 athlete in the country and the No. 1 player in the state of Kansas according to Rivals.com.
