Former LSU LB officially transferring to Houston, ready to play in ’13

Houston defensive coordinator James Bryant will have one of the top linebackers from 2011’s recruiting class to work with.

After just one season with LSU, Houston-area LB Trevon Randle is coming back to play for the Houston Cougars, according to Sam Khan of the Houston Chronicle. Randle, from League City, Texas, will be eligible to play for the Cougars in 2013.

Randle was a three-star LB and ranked No. 17 at that position according to Rivals. Khan has a more in-depth look at Randle’s high school career and recruitment.

Although Randle didn’t make an impact for Tigers this season, he is still relatively well-known for different reasons. In the height of the Willie Lyles investigation at Oregon, the NCAA interviewed Randle about a possible connection with Lyles, the owner of Complete Scouting Services. LSU used recruiting material provided by Lyles, although the legitimacy of that material has come into question.
