TCU gets a Wyoming transfer at receiver

Josh Doctson, Trevone Boykin AP

Just one year at Wyoming was apparently enough for Cowboys receiver Josh Doctson to leave for what will now be a former Mountain West conference member.

Doctson’s high school coach told the Fort Worth Star Telegram that the freshman wide receiver has transferred to TCU. The news that Doctson was departing was a surprising one, although no reason was given when it was made official last week.

The Texas native made an immediate impact for the Cowboys this season, catching 35 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns. Coincidentally, one of those five touchdowns came in a 31-20 loss to the Horned Frogs last season.
