After delay, Sooners WR gets cleared by NCAA

In August, it was announced that incoming Oklahoma receiver Trey Metoyer was part of a pair of Sooners who would not be a part of the 2011 team.

Metoyer, a five-star receiver from Texas, ended up at Hargrave Military Academy for a season.

Five months after Bob Stoops made the announcement, it appears Metoyer has made, or is making his way, his way back to Norman. According to David Smoak of ESPN Central Texas and later confirmed by Jake Trotter of ESPN, the wide receiver has been cleared by the NCAA and will be eligible to play next fall.

In his senior year in high school, Metoyer had 108 receptions for 1,540 yards and 23 touchdowns.
