Boise State CB gets the boot

Brandon Carter, Quaylon Ewing_Burton AP

A part-timer starter in 2011, cornerback Quaylon Ewing-Burton has seen his time with the Boise State football program come to an abrupt end.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the sophomore has been dismissed from the Broncos for what the paper describes as not living up to the standards of the program.  As if to put an exclamation point on the dismissal, the Statesman notes that Ewing-Burton has already been scrubbed from the team’s official website.

Obviously, the specifics of what led to the dismissal have yet to be confirmed.

Ewing-Burton played in 13 games for the Broncos in 2011, starting four of those contests.  Coming out of high school in Houston, Tex., Ewing-Burton was a member of BSU’s 2009 recruiting class.

I wonder where all the Bozo state bozos are. They love to throw rocks at the SEC programs about having kids that don’t meet Their standerds. I guess Petterson is perfect afterall:-)

    Who let the trolls out

    Who let the trolls out

Deb, gatorguy, where are ya? You clueless little trolls. Got one of the southern brain surgeons to start the thread did you?

You don’t get it. Never have.

Your idea of class is having just one guy busted for smoking dope last week. Things are improving for you.

When the leader of the sec’s top team kicks a guys face in, you make excuses, get the legal system to let him off the hook, and reinstate him ASAP.

At least your consistent. In your stupidity.

Last spring Boise State had a player get in a fight in a bar. He wasn’t suspended. He was immediately cut from the team. Period.

Titus Young? A lot of talk was given to Titus leading up to the draft last year because he was suspended for a year. Of course, nobody knows what he did. Boise’s football program is a class act and didn’t disclose it. Why didn’t they have to disclose it? Many in the know say that it wasn’t a serious issue to outsiders, but a discipline issue that their program and team consider serious. Titus took his punishment like a man, came back, and the rest is history. Suspended him a year for something you all would consider nothing. Now, he’s a pro.

The Dutch players? Boise found that their host families (they were Boise foreign exchange students) allowed them to do such things as drive the family 89 Camry. Boise turned themselves in. And, of course, the NCAA fried them. The host families of long time foreign exchange students. Their real parents live 6 thousand miles away. Boise took them off the field and they served far more severe penalties than Cam Newton or any of the Alabama, Florida or LSU drug abusers.

Boise violated NCAA rules by senior players allowing freshman to sleep on their floors during off season workouts. They turned themselves in on these heinous crimes. Clearly the NCAA determined that they enjoyed a tremendous “competitive advantage” by doing this and fried them.

Stay classy you hillbillies. Boise takes responsibility for their slip ups. They tolerate nothing from their athletes misbehaviors. Nothing. They are brutal. They develop great football players and even better men.

You embarrass yourselves infinitely more often than you ever do anything good.

Doug Martin is lighting up the Senior Bowl. Reports today says he is the best back. We need some ignorant sec hillbilly to troll him down.

Who are the sec quarterbacks in the Senior Bowl? Not sure the last time Kellen Moore stole a laptop and threw it out a window or kicked another guys head in when he was down.

Shea McClellen was described as the “toughest” guy at the Senior Bowl today by a Vikings coach. Of course Georgia knows that. They are the only ones who have the courage to play Boise. Wow did Boise kick their ass on both sides of the lines of scrimmage in that game!

Billy Winn may be the first Boise player off the board in April.

Nate Potter isn’t at the Senior Bowl but was a two time All American offensive lineman and will do well in April.

You trolls look like idiots to those who know and love football. Why don’t you give it a rest? To disrespect Boise State makes you look stupid to any and everybody except your own kin. Go away and comment on kirpatrick’s drug bust, or mathieu’s, or the next guy who rubs his huevos in your kins face, or poisons each others trees, or kicks peoples skulls in. You don’t have any idea what an honorable program looks like. You don’t know what one is. You have taken our game to a level of embarrassment. And, your fatcats behind the scenes have corrupted the game to the point of it becoming a joke. People laugh at how ridiculous college footballs corruptive competitive make up has become.

If any of you ran your program to Boise’s standards of behavior and discipline you would not be able to field a team.

@mrslay1… you’re correct… no one can live up to the SEC’s “standerds”. You should master Pre-English 001 before you tackle Ethics 101.

You see.. in the SEC, this dude would be suspended HALF a game and then go right back to being a stud as if nothing ever happened. The program up in Boise has standards… and yes they are VERY DIFFERENT than your SEC “standerds”.

Thank you for trolling today! Trolling Thursdays would not be a success without your valued participation and we greatly appreciate it!

Olskool – when your comments are longer than the article, it is time to reevaluate your priorities in life. Get away to Mex or the Bahamas for a while…it will do a mind good…

Calm down olskool everybody knows the SEC is corrupt. It’s sad Tebow is the exception instead of the rule because they present the heisman and Richardson is made a hero for having a couple kids already and “Honey Badger” fails a drug test (Synthetic or not).

Attacking Deb is more than little odd. She is one of the more rational posters on here. And rarely, if ever stoops to (hmmm, where to start, where to start?) name calling, trafficking in derogatory regional stereotypes, etc and certainly repeating it ad nauseum.

Oh, and she hasn’t posted on this article either. So you have NO basis to attack her other than, I suppose, a desire to demonstrate the very lack of class and civility you claim others suffer from.

But I will venture to guess, based her actual posts on kids getting suspended or kicked off of other teams, that she would equally happy with this show of discipline by Boise St.

Don’t know why there has to be name calling and mud slinging. And calling people who live in the south hillbillies seems blatantly stereotypical, does it not? Regardless of how much you know about or love football, to bring it to such a low level is taking it a tad too far, and is not only disrespectful to everyone you’re targeting, but makes you seem that much less credible. I couldn’t take your opinion seriously because you went so far as to call me a hillbilly. You don’t see the authors of these articles throwing stones.

If you are, as I assume, a Boise fan, then quite honestly, regardless of the Boise football program’s standards, they obviously must not have very high standards for their fans. You’re ugliness is very counter-productive, sir or maam. Shows that there definitely are some very UNclassy people who associate themselves with Boise St. And that entitlement is exactly why few like Boise.

The reason there are not any SEC fans here is because they beat each other up yesterday. That Auburn/ Alabama shit even wore me out.

The purpose of my rant is to express how you just don’t get it. You people just don’t get it.

Well, you just proved it. You don’t get it.

Anyone who reads this board understands. If you have read the board for a few months or longer either you would clearly understand, or you would be a clueless neandrathal who usually trolls by the name of gatorsomething/anything, rollwhatever, or the queen princess of illogic.

    Facts are important.

    Words actually mean something.

    Her trolling can’t be excused.

olskool, I am not anyone else using a different name. I am not a troll. I read majority of the items posted on here; using the NBC Sports Talk app, I read tons of articles from all sports, as I am a huge sports fan, and aspiring sports journalist. just because I read, does not mean I comment on everything. I comment if and when I feel I want to, and have an opinion that would be beneficial to the comment thread. I don’t wastefully dilute every article with useless rants or opinions. I also don’t put down other users and/or people. This is a conversation about sports. Making it personal by putting other people down is UNNECESSARY. I’m not even an SEC fan; being born and raised, and still residing in, the Austin area, I am a die hard Texas fan. So I don’t take offense to what people on here are saying about the SEC, per say. I AM saying that you don’t have to take it to the point where this is no longer an athletic conversation, but a competition as to who can hit hardest.

As for Boise St., I have never liked them. They feel for some reason they’re entitled to a National Championship, because year after year, they beat consistently bad teams, without ever playing a meaningful one. And in my eyes, Colt McCoy is still the winningest QB in CFB history, namely because he did it while playing WORTHWHILE teams. So, my opinion of Boise has always been less than good.

The point of this rant, and the one before it, is that you, sir/maam, are not helping that opinion by taking cheap shots at peoples’ heritages. Not all of us hillbillies and rednecks are idiotic and mindless. And from what I can tell, we are a lot more polite than you.

    @ bowwserr,

I agree that the personel attacks are cause for a loss of credibility. Olskool should have left that part out because everything else he/she stated is the truth.

Not being from a small school market means that you don’t have any concept of the frustrations that those of us who live in the smaller markets go through. Especially when we know the larger markets avoid our teams like the black death plague. There is a reason they do so. They realize that the Boise States, TCU’s, Urban’s Utah teams, the BYU teams of the 80’s and a couple from the eastern US can beat them. These schools have put together winning programs with less than half of the talent available to them.

Part of your aspiring sports journalistic endeaver should be to gain an understanding of the unfairness of the BCS and NCAA. View things from a BSU view and you may have a better grasp of why fans get heartburn by the bigger conferences unfair advantage.

Entitlement…. no not BSU. Fairness… yes BSU expects fairness.

No one at BSU feels an entitlement to a NC game. What they wish for is to be given a fair oportunity when they earn it. They last two seasons BSU failed to earn that chance because they missed two very important field goals. Just like Bama did the first game against LSU last season. What baffles me is why Bama got the second chance. Other teams were more deserving based on all previous BCS reasoning. Also, BSU deserved better bowl games then the Las Vegas Bowl the last two years. I’m surprised that the networks don’t demand that the NCAA and BSC create better bowl matchups. That is part of what I mean when I talk about fairness.

Fairness… is for some SEC teams to come up north when invited. Right now BSU has an opening next Nov. and no one will take them up on the offer. Not just SEC teams but teams such as your beloved Longhorns don’t want the game.

Lastly, Colt McCoy was a good college qb. His records were smashed by a qb that only played 2.3 qtrs a game. Kellen Moore was taken out of most games after a series or two of the 3rd qtr. He had led BSU to such a lead that coach Pete would pull him. Even against the Georgias and Oregons of the world. Imagine the records had he played four qtrs every game.

Just another classy act from coach Pete.
