Updated: Dual-threat QB ends up signing with Washington after delay

UPDATED 4:35 p.m. ET: After a delay, it all went according to plan when you consider to where Cyler Miles sent his letter of intent.

It just took a few hours longer. Miles said this afternoon that he will sign with Washington after missing his signing day ceremony earlier today. A report from the Denver Post reported shortly after that Miles was having second thoughts on the Huskies.

Call this signing day hooky.

Mullen High School (Colo.) quarterback Cyler Miles, who has been committed to Washington since last summer, did not attend his signing day ceremony, according to the Denver Post.

Miles had told the Seattle Times earlier this week that he was firmly committed to the Huskies, but a source close to Miles’ high school program said today that as of last night, Miles was undecided and began feeling that way after Huskies OC Doug Nussmeier left to go to Alabama.

Miles recently took a visit to USC, who could also be in the mix. However, Miles signing with the Trojans could depend on the scholarship limits USC is dealing with thanks to NCAA sanctions. Florida and Auburn have reportedly shown interest in Miles as well.

He has told multiple media outlets that he will sign with either USC or Washington here around 4 p.m. ET.

The co-MVP of the Army All-American Bowl is listed as the No. 35 overall recruit according to Rivals and is considered the No. 2 dual-threat prospect according to 247Sports.
