Rice’s D-line coach reportedly leaves for Wake Forest

Though signing day is over, coaches coming and going to other jobs is not.

The Houston Chronicle reports, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, that Rice defensive line coach Derrick Jackson is leaving the Owls after just one season to take the same position at Wake Forest.

Jackson previously was the D-line coach at Akron.

Last month, WF coach Jim Grobe announced that two assistants would not be retained for the 2012 season, although the D-line coach, Ray McCartney, is still listed on the program’s athletic site.
