Big 12 schedule not coming out today after all

From what we can tell, West Virginia will indeed be a member of the Big 12 this upcoming season, pending the signing of an actual document between WVU and the Big East.

In the meantime, the Big 12 schedule was supposed to tide us over.

Except the Big 12 schedule isn’t coming today. According to multiple media outlets, from the Charleston Gazette to Orangebloods.com and the Dallas Morning News, we’ll have to wait a little longer for a schedule that is reportedly still being finalized.

“There are other issues, not just ours,’' a WVU source told the Gazette. “I don’t know when we’ll have the schedule, but we were told this morning not to expect it today.’'

Barring a major hiccup with the Big East/WVU agreement, we know generally what the Big 12 schedule is going to look like. TCU is expected to take Texas A&M’s schedule, and WVU will reportedly take Missouri’s. It’s just that we’re tired of waiting.

But you can bet there’s zero sympathy from the Big East on that front, which is still trying to find a way to get an eighth football team on the 2012 conference slate.
