A couple of weeks after losing its offensive coordinator to Auburn, Temple could be on the verge of finding a replacement.
According to the Boston Globe, the Owls have tabbed Boston College wide receivers coach Ryan Day as its new coordinator. The Globe writes that “an announcement is expected shortly.”
A Temple spokesperson told the Philadelphia Inquirer that any coaching additions would be announced this week.
A candidate to replace Kevin Rogers when the BC coordinator took a leave of absence due to medical issues last September, Day has been with the Eagles since the 2007 season. Prior to that, he was a grad assistant at Florida under Urban Meyer for one season as well as holding the same position at BC for two tears.
He’s never been a coordinator at any level, which is perhaps why the Inquirer suggests Day could carry the a co-coordinator title.
Day would at least in part replace Scot Loeffler, who was hired by Auburn as its coordinator late last month.
@Coach Day
Just continue to whip Villanova’s ass. They are afraid that Temple athletics will overtake them in Philly. That is why they will not allow Temple in the Big East. It’s a sorry situation when one school feels that way against another school. The administrators at ‘Nova should feel ashamed of themselves!
Wow, I guess there is at last 1 person who give a $hit about anything in philly. People that walk upright don’t care! Well thats not completely true, Andy Reid is a great coach and good man. Though it’s hard to see why he stays in that $hit whole of a city and deal with the trash players and fans he has to deal with!
Don’t have a lot of confidence in picking up a coach this late in the season.
@gamecosker. Temple outspends the rest of the MAC by at least 2 to 1 and still haven’t one a conference title. Win something and then maybe at least one conference would want you.

Agree with fans in Philly…they play too rough. But I still can’t get over the SF Giant fan who was beat to a pulp at a Dodger game last year. Putting aside pro sports, Philly has some great restaurants and museums. But I would never wear an opposing pro jersey to any of their games. They get tanked up and then you get the knuckleheads doing their thing.
