Getty ImagesAlready navigating through the 2011 season without secondary coach Willie Mack Garza, who resigned suddenly in September, USC also recently lost linebackers coach Joe Barry and receivers coach Ted Gilmore to NFL jobs with the Chargers and Raiders.
Today, multiple reports surfaced that coach Lane Kiffin would be filling two of those three vacancies. Footballscoop.com and USCFootball.com both reported that North Dakota State defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton and former Nebraska and FAU secondary coach Marvin Sanders have been hired to coach the same positions with the Trojans, respectively.
FAU coach Carl Pelini confirmed the Sanders hiring to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel; Hazelton’s hiring was confirmed through USCFootball.com, although the school has yet to announce the hires formally.
Not many could work for the ego maniac LAME WIMPIN!!
I think every good coach has a bit of an ego… It’s how they get those recruits to come and play for them.
To save anyone else who thought of it a little time, no, it doesn’t appear Scottie and Vidal are related.
Yet another mental midget comment from @mrslay1 that once again validates his status as a dim bulb. Undoubtably Coach Kiffin and the USC program received numerous applications to fill these vacancies. While Coach Kiffin is the head coach and these hires are members of his coaching staff, he certainly wasn’t the only one involved in their selection. @mrslay1 really needs to get a life as his obsession with bashing USC and Coach Kiffin truly underscores his limited mental capacity.
usc@js: it’s not just Kiffin or USC mrslay1 moronically bashes; it’s pretty much anything and anyone outside the SEC.
To slay1, why don’t you stay on your SEC post and stay the hell off anything regarding USC. You have nothing positive to report or to say. If you haven’t checked lately, L. Kiffin has done a pretty good job at what he does. Your a clown.
mrs lay1 repeatedly sounds like a bitter ex girlfriend with her posts about USC and Kiffin. Get over it mrs. There’s plenty more fish in the sea.
Pretty LAME there pee wee. Wimpin is the $ussy here alone with the members of the A whole of the USA in so cal.
Once again @mrslay provides a response that simply doesn’t make any sense confirming my earlier remarks about a basic lack of intelligence. However I suppose if I was living in some s**thole town like Harrison, Arkansas living in a doublewide I too would be angry at the world and envious of pretty much everywhere else.
mrslay: “A whole”???? Learn how to spell. What a terrible coach Lane Kiffin must be to go 11-2 with a bunch of freshmen and sophomores and finish 6th in the country all while under some of the most egregious sanctions in NCAA history. What a fantastic argument you have.
Woops. I meant 10-2
Hey, Lane…. got a fresh meal for you.
Never mind, my wife just flushed the toilet.
but, you’ll have another chance,
at least in this house.

Nice one, lakesidegator. I can almost smell the stupidity seeping from your pores. Definitely smells like SEC education to me. If I’m right and you are a Gator fan, it must suck to have Urban and Tebow gone and watch your program sink into irrelevance. On the other hand, we lose Pete Carroll, Leinart, Bush, Cushing, Matthews, and many more and still dominate
Boy must have really hurt a Gator fan. Certainly while sc goes from scum bag coach to scum bag coach. You people are so stupid. You actually think anyone cares what you think. sc… the wart on the a$$ of the country!
In response to Mike Slay’s (aka @mrslay1) latest comment I could care less what he or any other SEC fan thinks about USC. That Slay and his buddy @lakesidegator continue to lurk around and make infantile comments on a day-old post about USC coaching staff hires shows neither one has any life. Further it appears more than anything else they are envious of the USC program. It’s hard to believe that Slay is 53 years old. I’d tell him to grow up but given his age and his continuing drivel not to mention a demonstrated inability to spell it’s unlikely that he will ever have the sense of anything more than a pubescent pre-teen boy.
Personally, I love that USC is hated by the rest of the country. It’s simply jealousy. It must suck to know that no matter where a recruit is from, there’s a chance he will choose USC. Same with Notre Dame. The inky difference is that Notre Dame hasn’t been good since the 80s. In no way would I ever try to covert someone to he a USC fan. Not everyone can be as awesome as us. According to ESPN, we dominated the last decade and we are poised to take this one as well. The greatest NFL factory of all time according to the NFL network. And as Michael Wilbon of PTI said, “College football is better served when USC is great.”
@papab – I agree. Coach Kiffin left UT as he knew that being the head coach at USC was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Myopic SEC fans will never understand this because they believe that their conference is superior over all others. I’m not saying the SEC isn’t good but I’d rather watch the two top teams do something other than kicking field goals until 4:36 was left in the eighth quarter they played each other during the two games they played this past season.
At the end of the day, the SEC is a great conference. Their power is derived from their awesome defensive lines. However, from top to bottom, and at the end of this past season, no team looked as good as USC. The SEC offenses were so stagnant. In the past ten years USC is 4-0 against the SEC. Destroyed the Jason Campbell/Cadillac Williams Auburn teams and the McFadden Arkansas teams at home and home games. I wish we would play more SEC teams before we start conference play, but then again, the SEC is too afraid to schedule tough non conference games.
