APMike Leach may have moved on to Washington State to start a new chapter in his coaching career, but his legal battle with Texas Tech over his 2009 termination remained very much alive.
That is, until the Texas Supreme Court denied Leach’s appeal in his wrongful termination lawsuit against Tech. The ruling came earlier this morning, according to the Associated Press. The appeal was initiated by Leach and his lawyers in response to a ruling by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals last year that threw out Leach’s breach of contract claim. Leach was trying to show that he was unfairly terminated, but could not receive any sort of monetary relief.
Leach was fired in 2009 amid accusations that he mistreated former receiver Adam James when James had a concussion. Leach says he was due for a $800,000 bonus the day after he was fired, and that was the reason behind the dismissal.
Craig James was the one who deserved to be fired from his job. And did you hear that ridiculous rumor that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS AT SMU?
Arrrrrr. Shiver me timbers.
Go Cougs! Dig your way out of the Pac-12 basement.
In the words of an ex-WSU plaaaayer:
“”WSU is a hard school to go to, man,” Williams says. “You ain’t got nothin’ to do but get drunk and smoke weed, and not go to class because you’re too tired from doing what you’re doing.”

Mike Leach is very accustomed to building up a program under those circumstances.

GO COUGS!
True, true. That seems like 100 years ago, but I get your point…
Go over their pointy lil heads, Mike. Keep swingin’ your sword!!!!!!
Take it the US Supreme Court Mike….I hope you get 8 million. It would serve the Texas maggots right
It’s interesting that Leach’s charges not really refuted…it was more a matter of legal procedures and the right to bring a case against TTU…..At this point, I hope Leach moves on with his career; anyone who has done any research on this case is pretty clear on who the liars are…..
You are right…the liers are now where they belong…in politics. I do however think this is a good case to take to the US Supreme court. Not just about Leach, but the law not allowing a university to be sued over a broken contract or slandering someone that has cost this man millions of dollars. This has set a really bad precedent that a school can get away with anything because it is a government institution. These university officials should be made to be accountable, and not above the law. They should be fired!!
