When we noted last weekend that a member of the Iowa State football program had been arrested on a theft charge, a reader emailed asking us “what the hell else is there to do in Ames?”
Possessing, that’s what thanks for asking.
According to the Des Moines Register, defensive back Durrell Givens was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Neither the substance nor the circumstances that led to the arrest were immediately available.
What was immediately available was the football program’s response, which was an indefinite suspension for the senior-to-be who started three games last season.
