The Vandy condition is normal when a coach breaks his contract to accept the same position at another program. Franklin was Maryland’s coach and they weren’t happy he resigned. They also didn’t want Coach Franklin robbing the players he had previously recruited.

I’m sure he’ll lean toward UGA because it is close to home and yet he’d get all the recognition he needs to advance to the next level, but man, Florida NEEDS him. I hope he’ll at least give UF some serious consideration. Either way, best of luck, Max.

He will be lucky to go to Georgia. Class program who always put one or two OL in the NFL every year. Of coarse they don’t have Fgs for coaches or administrators like some schools up north, and that is important for some young men. If he can get into the SEC and has what it takes, he will do well. He will be competing against the best DL men in college football every year.

Or, if he really wants to play in a program where each year O-Lineman go to the NFL and start fairly quickly, he can go to Wisconsin. Three O-Linemaen from the UW 2011 class started in the NFL last fall. Carimi in Chicago, Moffitt in Seattle and Nagy in Dallas.

.UW is one of the likely landing spots for O’Brien, also.

UGA is not SC and does not over recruit. In fact they have six more scholarships to offer this year. UGA signed 19 LOI’s of the 25 permitted by the SEC. UF signed 23 and has two available. Don’t let facts get in the way of your hate.

He has been a starter, lives pretty close to UGA, can sit a year and still have two more years to play, and he wants to be closer to home, or at least he might have just wanted to be away from Edsall. Whats not to like in the deal for an SEC team, especially Georgia?
