Four-star WR to sign Tuesday

Arizona Rodriguez Football AP

According to 247Sports.com, Davonte Neal is the No. 53 player in the Class of 2012 and the No. 6 “athlete” in the country.

The wide receiver/cornerback is also the highest-rated ’12 recruit who remains unsigned nearly three weeks after National Signing Day, although that situation should be rectified in short order.

The Scottsdale, Ariz., product is expected to announce his decision Tuesday at noon ET and sign his Letter of Intent.  Neal has reportedly narrowed his choices to Arizona, Arkansas, North Carolina and Notre Dame.

Depending on which way the wind’s blowing at the time you read a report, either the Wildcats or Irish are considered the front-runners.  Neal has made official visits to all of the schools mentioned with the exception of Arizona, although one scheduled to the home-state school was scrubbed recently due to a death in his family.

The four-star player has already reportedly made his decision and informed his soon-to-be new coaches, who, the Arizona Daily Star writes, have been sworn to secrecy.

“THE DECISION” looms, I hope for the sake of future years and new 4/5 star egomaniacs none of the major news outlets send people to cover this, let the local news send it out on the wire. Although I imagine this kids dad has made it clear he wants full coverage from the school he is attending.

This will be interesting. Being from Zona I would think ND would be a bit to cold for him. Maybe he wants to stay as a home town favorite, but if hes thinking of best preperation for the next level, of his named choices Arkansas would be the place to be. Problem is he has said he wants to play right away and that will be short of impossible at Arkansas. They have receivers in waiting that would start for any team in the country. That’s the real reason DGB went to Missouri.

All games on national tv, playing in Ireland and immediate playing time = ND

“Arizona, Arkansas, North Carolina and Notre Dame”

That’s kind of a weird final four. No big powerhouses. All kind of medium football powers.

I hope it’s Arizona or North Carolina. I’d like to see one of those new coaches get some positive momentum in the beginning of their tenure. Notre Dame and Arkansas will be all right without him. Arizona and North Carolina both NEED him.

Um, Arizona girls are simply hotter. Easy choice.

rcali, lol whats he going to do, take them for a spin around the block, er city of tucson? South Bend at least has some tradition, stuff to do, a community. Tucson is a dump, there is nothing to do there, and the community isnt really tight. and yes, i live in PHX. But I also think Rich rods O will not work in the Pac 12, he may get more playing time but at ND he will have a chance to be a part of a BCS contender, and start immediately. ND’s front 7 is considered one of the best this year also, so the D will do their part. Cant say the same about U of A.

LOL, South Bend is the biggest dump in the country. Co-eds are horrendous! Truck stop U, err Arizona, has plenty of things to do and great looking co-eds. He’ll get a better education at ND though.

    ND- football tradition + education

Truck Stop U- fun and chicks

Arkansas has them all beat. Fayettville has one of the coolest and fun campuses anywhere, Dickson street, beautiful hills, lakes, girls and most important is putting out receivers now like a machine. And as long as Petrino is there it will continue! He may of coarse not want to wait his turn as the stable is full.

Coming from a guy who has lived in SoCal, AZ and the Midwest, the girl rankings are SoCal, Midwest and AZ. The Midwest girls are special and have a MUCH more open mind than AZ. Do NOT underestimate Midwest coeds; ask Urban Meyer, it (Midwest) got him back into coaching.

Had a great time in Fayettville, although I liked Athens better.

100F14- I’ve attended cfb games all over the country. IMO, Tex gals are the best, followed by the SEC. I do like the midwest as well. I’d have to rank Mich St #1, with Ohio St a close 2nd. Pac 12 schools have average co-eds, but zona and asu lead the conference. Colo and Utah were nice additions (Ute ladies are underrated imo). The 2 Wash schools aren’t bad either.

urban meyer got back into coachin because of mid west co-eds..?? :/

Lmao@ centexhorn…no big powerhouses? Where you from, kid?

As ESPN once put it: “Every sport needs its kings. Kings define excellence and provide a standard for everyone else in the sport to measure themselves against. They are loved and hated, respected and feared, revered and reviled. They are royalty, regardless of the year, regardless of the era. Baseball has the Yankees, pro basketball the Celtics, pro hockey the Canadiens. And college football has Notre Dame.”

That being said, I have no idea what this kid is gonna do. South Bend is awful, and is too cold for even a polar bear. And the women are…well…the women ARE polar bears. But Notre Dame is still Notre Dame.

    See you in Dublin! :)

HA HA HA good one! notre dame royalty? someone to compare to what, little green men that live with you in fairy tale land? you are nobody to anyone but yourself. If there is such a thing in college football as royalty, it would be Alabama! not the losers in fake gold helmets who have meant nothing in 25 years:-) You won’t see the real football world in dublin. just the people so lame they only have nbc for TV:-)

When I was a young man the saying went – “if you’ve got it FLAUNT it!”

As I grew older it changed to “If you’ve got it you don’t HAVE to flaunt it!”

Now that I am an old fart it has evolved to “If you flaunt it you haven’t got it!”

case in point – The Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover.

I know that there will be dumping on me (a lot) and I know that I don’t care, so let me just leave you with this question – middle aged fathers out there with daughters – would you be proud of your daughter if she posed in a “bathing suit” like that?
