Starting corner one of two dismissed by Tulane

After seeing his 2011 season end prematurely due to injury, Jordan Sullen has seen his Tulane career come to a premature end due to an off-field issue.

Tucked at the very end of an emailed release regarding the Green Wave’s first scrimmage of the spring, the school announced that the cornerback, along with linebacker Steven Funderburk, “are no longer participating with the football program.” The pair aren’t enrolled at the school, period, due to violations of University policy.

What those violations entailed were not released.

The loss of Sullen in particular is a significant blow to the Green Wave secondary. Sullen started the first 12 games of the 2011 season as a true junior before missing the season finale against Hawaii in late November. For his career, Sullen played in 32 games.

As a redshirt freshman in 2011, Funderburk played in 11 games.
