Getty ImagesAny lingering doubts as to who would be under center for Marshall to start the upcoming season have officially been erased.
In a press release, the Herd announced that quarterback A.J. Graham has been dismissed from the football program. Other than the old faithful “a violation of team rules and policies” crutch, no reason for the dismissal was given.
Graham lost a three-way battle for the starting job last summer camp to freshman Rakeem Cato, but did start four games when Cato went down with an injury. Graham subsequently suffered an injury of his own that prematurely put an end to his 2011 season.
Prior to the shoulder injury, Graham completed 64-of-103 passes for 714 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
